Pattaya

Pattaya is a city situated on the bay of Pattaya, which is a part of the Gulf of Thailand, and is located 147 km south-east of Bangkok. From a small fishing village, it has become an international resort in 25 years: there is Pattaya Beach, which is 4 km long. The bay is on both the north and south side surrounded by rocky hills. Behind these lie Naklua in the north and Jomtien in the south.
For the coast of Pattaya lie multipule little islands.

The city can be seen as one of the most versatile resorts in Asia. There are bars, hotels, nightclubs, disco's and also a water park. Almost every sport can be played and you don't even have to eat oriental food: there are a lot of European restaurants as well.

You can reach Pattaya from Bangkok in aproximately 2 hours by Sukhumvit Highway, wich runs through Bang Na, Bang Pakong, Chon Buri and Si Racha. Buses (some with air conditioning) depart regularly from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai) in Bangkok. You can also travel to Pattaya by taxi from the airport. We can easily arrange this for you!

Public transport in Pattaya are the Songtaews, which are called baht buses. These drive (in principle) a number of fixed routes. The stops are not determined, the songthaews can stop anywhere along the route, whenever it is requested. Depending on the distance, a ride costs 5 to 20 baht per person. You can always ask the driver to drive to a destination that is not on the route: in this case the fare must be negotiated.
